Solid work man!

I honestly thought the intro was a bit slow, the first chords seemed to last forever my first listen, but it did set the tone pretty well for the build up later.

love the thunder sounds, they aren't overpowering and aren't really bassy
1:18 when that slide starts is just, epic. its like your falling into the wobbly part and it sounds awesome.
love the percussion 1:32 and on.
And good work on the wobble too. sounds great
over all very fun to listen to.

I don't really do reviews like this often do i? lol.
You keep on making awesome stuff dude :)

I gotta say, that high pitch at 1:27 really hurt :(

Otherwise its beautiful, i love jazz music and this catches the theme you are trying to create very well. i get a steampunk deep city chase with this one.

Azhthar responds:

Thanks a lot! Glad you like it! The gritty sounds starting at 1:27 are bowed cymbals and I used them to create a more unpleasent atmosphere. Maybe I exaggerated a bit here... Sorry for that!

It sounds nice and all, but i think you could do better.
the compression is a bit off, and it sounds like every instrument is fighting to be heard.
i haven't listened to the other tracks in this album, but if they are in this quality, i can't say i would buy it.
This really has potential, i love the melody, but the drops are a bit harsh to the ears with all of the little things that weren't considered.
honestly, i think you should have spent more time mastering this one.

you know whats funny?
i found this like 1 year ago before i knew about you,
thought it was cool but never saved it or anything.
then a few months later i tried to find it, and after a while i did. i saved it and replaced it with an audio file in a game to change the menu theme.
it wasn't until after that when i discorvered your awesome music, and found out this was your song

Reminds me of the learn to fly penguin getting ready for a jump
and like all the other penguins are watching him and laughing like
"lol hes gun try to fly again"

captures the mood perfectly!
also the orchestral plucks are on point.
:)
10/10 would try to fly again

This song is amazing!
It was never repetitive and it was bursting with emotion and dedication.
i have one question, though. the percussion coming in around 2:20 sounds like hitting a rim on a drum, and i was wondering how you made the sound. :) i would really like to know!

I'm a big fan of Native Instruments :3 The little Taiko-rim thing should be in this plugin here:
https://www.native-instruments.com/de/products/komplete/cinematic/damage/

But there is another way (never tried it; might sound shitty):

Allright lets hope you have Fl-Studio otherwise I wrote this for nothing xD

-Search for free "wood-percussion" samples and download them.
-Pick one you like and edit the length, pitch and panning !very subtly! > save all the altered versions in some folder (10 should be enough).
You could also layer a few of those versions for a more ensemble-like result.
-If you have DirectWave load it up and drop all those samples in the grey list like area.
-Things should turn yellow now. I hate yellow...

-Now you have all your samples listed in there> Go to the top one and search for the L-Key, Root Key and High-Key numbers>
change them all to "60" which hopefully should be your "C5" Key
-Now you've edited those numbers only for the top one.> right-click on that one>"Copy to all zones">Root Key, High Key, Low Key
-Now you have all those samples playing on your "C5" Key. But we don't want them to play simultaneously:
Go to the vertical menu in the bottom left corner and click on "Zone". Now there should be a "Trigger" section in the first little menu.
Go there and change the group to "1" and the type to "random"
Save your DirectWave preset! Save it! QUICK! BEFORE IT CRASHES! O_O

Now you can play all your edited wood-percussion samples randomly on your C5 Key.

Oh and don't forget to set the "loop-type" in the vertical menu "sample" section to "disabled" for every single sample!
Otherwise it will..well.. Loop your samples when you hold the key O_o

I used this for my voiceglitch set but with multiple keys and way too many samples. I had to edit 822. Took me 2 days @_@
Hope this helps a bit :3

This sounds really good so far, and i have some suggestions

Critique: Its hard to tell that there is an eigth rest in the beginning of the first bar, and the first time i listened to it, it felt accidental. I think you could fix it by making the first strings cord have a quicker attack so you can tell where the beat is, but If you want it to be loose with the tme, you may want to have the strings chord fade in before you have the piano.

Suggestion: while i dont know what your plans are with this song, i think having the strings hit a chord after there plucks would be a powerful way to break away from the intro and hit into the meat of the song. This would allow the buildup to release and then you can add in new instruments as the melody now develops. This is your song, though, so it is ultimately your desicion, but just in case you're looking for ideas, this may be helpful. :)

This is showing a lot of potential, and im eager to see the finished product.
P.S, sorry for any spelling errors, im typing this on a phone.

This percussion though.

Like how did you make it cuz i want to have that.
gg.
pls teach

( ͡° ᴥ ͡°)
This is gooderest

Awesome song, i absolutely love it. *downloads*

btw
do you make the cover art yourself?
or do you use a website?

Cursedsnake responds:

Nope this is selfmade.
It's just a bunch of random Photoshop effects :P
